Belgian Influence

I've always wanted to do a post about Belgian decor, but it's been four years since I started the blog and Belgian style has become even more popular.  As a result, there are those who highlight the style better than I ever could (like Greet Lefevere at Belgian Pearls).  I only posted this room to show the beauty in simplicity, which in my opinion, is the heart of Belgian style.

  1. I love Greet's blog too!
What I love about Belgian style is that light IS a part of the design! No matter how ornate or simple, the light is the star of the show!

    1. I forgot about the light, Andie. How could I forget about light--candles and fireplaces too--when it comes to Belgian design.

  2. Belgian Pearls is great! I have fell in LOVE Belgian style and am trying to incorporate some elements of it into my home. For me, it is by far the most beautiful of mixing the old with the new and is practical, classy, plus looks so comfortable and inviting.

    1. I like how Belgian interiors are spare and calm too, in additional to comfortable, as you mentioned, Elena.

  3. What a beautiful dining area! And it sums up all that I love about Belgian decor. Took some time and scrolled around on all your files. It's so nice to know that so much of what I really like you already have categorized. I'll be checking back often. What's so great about your taste is that it is so constant and sure; mine is so disparate - a dilemma that keeps me needing nine houses.

Thanks for being this wonderful inspiration, Deborah. Will check in your files frequently.
