Here's a brief tour of my favorite kitchens from Pinterest. White cabinets rule these days, don't they?

This is my favorite of the group. Creamy cabinets, white marble counter tops and a gray stone (limestone, bluestone, Belgian stone?) counter top on a dark gray island. Plus, that's a Lacanche stove back there. Isn't she a beauty?

You already know how I feel about Darryl Carter. He can do no wrong in my book.

Well, actually, as much as I admire Darryl Carter's taste, I would replace these stools. They look good because they echo the color of the beams, but they don't look comfortable do they?

A crisp white kitchen with black accents. Pretty ceiling detail too.

Such interesting chairs and stools. I like these very much. Creamy white cabinets again.

My guess is that these are honed black granite, slate, or engineered stone counter tops. Sorry, not much of a guess is it? I wish I knew the source of this kitchen.

An interesting note about this counter top. Apparently it's not marble, but Cambria Quartz in "Torquay". It looks like a good alternative to marble.

And just for fun, I consider this to be the little black dress of kitchens.

ReplyDeleteAll beautiful! That first kitchen is also my favorite. What a handsome, understated vent hood! And that gorgeous island with the limestone top is divine. But the pièce de résistance is the Lacanche!!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend, Deborah ~

I love the kitchen Darryl Carter designed, love the mix of raw wood with white. I have to say though I'm with you the stools don't look comfortable and they look a little misplaced, a little too rustic!

Hi Deborah,
ReplyDeleteI like white kitchens, and although I don't always love them, I did love these. White kitchens appear so much the same to me, but not Darryl Carter's. He always makes them interesting by adding an antique or two. I love his pendant lamp in your third image. It makes the whole kitchen. But then, when I see the little black kitchen, I think, "Maybe..." So wish I could be more decisive.

I am personally not a huge fan of white cabinets. They look gorgeous but they have a tendency to attract lots of grunge. Now I love the counter tops and the island. They are perfect. Everything else looks perfect as well.

ReplyDeleteHi, the "source unknown" kitchen with cream cabinets and a plate rack above the sink is by Aquidneck Properties / Paul Burke Architects. Amazingly, counter and backsplash are zinc. You can see more photos of the kitchen here: http://www.houzz.com/photos/441227/Chartwell-House-contemporary-kitchen-providence
