Now this is a Boxwood Terrace....

Garden by Arabella Lennox Boyd on the Rue du Bac in Paris

Although these boxwood would require regular pruning by the gardner. And of course, I have no gardner. Or the house to go with the garden. On the bright side, however, if the relentless rain in New England keeps up, the boxwood on my patio will be as green as these.

  3. Hi Deborah,

I ADORE boxwood. I think I've mentioned it before but I LOVE the name of your blog.

What exactly is it about boxwood? I think Joan (above) said it best, simple and complex. I have a few boxwood in pots but am unsure as to how to prune them correctly. I hope I don't kill them this spring.

  4. Son #5, our Landscaper uses a Hula Hoop to clip his client's English Box (Boxwood) shrubs. You just keep moving it down the plant as you clip & voila, a perfect orb! This stunning image is the stuff screensavers are made of Deborah! Hope you get a little reprieve from your rain soon.

  5. So interesting to see the ones all grouped together en mass. Beautiful eye candy! Two of my boxwoods look so squished after this winter. I hope they will recover.

  9. English boxwoods don't need major pruning or a lot. English boxwoods grow slower than American or the viciously fast Korean.

A dear friend has loads of them, in pots no less, maintaining them herself. She is single, in her 60's with an interior design practice & a wedding/events/tea house business in an old plantation house.

She calls time with her boxwoods, "getting my head straight" time.

Life is too short not to have boxwoods.

Love the title of your blog, your blog & oh my, your cats.

Garden & Be Well, XO Tara

  11. How pretty. Too dry here for such lushness but whenever I see an all green garden like that, I'm so tempted to give mine a makeover. Love everything EVERYTHING else in the photo too. I'll take it all.
