Do you remember the Town & Country article about Ina Garten's Paris apartment? I still have that issue in my collection and refer to it often. In addition to the photos of Ina's living room and kitchen, the story discusses the apartment renovation and Ina's collaboration with the architect, Lia Kiladis.

It's great story, but the Town & Country feature left me wanting to see more photos. I was curious about how Ina decorated the other rooms and unfortunately, the magazine only showed the apartment's living area and kitchen. I looked for information about Lia Kiladis online and although I couldn't find a website for her, she does have photos of her projects on Flickr. The bedroom and bathroom here appear to be from Ina's Paris apartment.

As an Ina fan, it was thrill to find these photos. The rooms are understated, yet they make a strong impression. The materials appear to be luxurious, but the lines are simple. Nothing is overdone or superfluous. It's just what I expected from Ina.
Hi, Deborah - Good detective work ;-) You already know how much I love Ina's style. Thanks for finding more for us fans!! Ina should do a line of housewares, etc.
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Loi
I agree, Loi and would be one of the first in line to buy housewares designed by Ina.
DeleteI love Ina so much. Love the clean and fresh space. xo Terri
ReplyDeleteI love Ina and her homes State side so seeing her French abode is fun. Thanks for doing the digging for us Deb!

Wow, great work!!!! Loved seeing this. Thank you Deb!
ReplyDeleteGreat detective work. I think these rooms reflect her style perfectly. Her barn is designed with a similar understated, but wonderful look.

Love the rooms but to me the bedroom has too much of a hotel style to it. However, I would love to have the bathroom.
ReplyDeleteHi Debra,
ReplyDeleteHave been following your blog for years on my daughter-in-law's recommendation, you recommended Cote de Texas, and it multiplied from there till I have many, many blogs in my "favorites" list. I will join so many by also saying I love Ina. I still have a Martha Stewart article on Ina when she still ran Barefoot Contessa - that's how long I've liked her. Too bad they had a falling out.
To the point, I have now started a blog loosely about kitchens (very loosely) and plan on doing a post about Ina sometime in the future. I too love Ina's design aesthetic and have saved images and articles from everywhere. Thanks for these which I have never seen anywhere.
I work very part time at Williams Sonoma (to feed my addiction to cooking equipment) and most of us there and our customers also love Ina. (By the by, she buys much of her equipment from WS. Can identify almost everything when I watch her show.) There are a few fans of Giada, but we ignore them.
Sorry for this very long comment, but you struck a chord. Thanks for doing so.

Hi Billie,
DeleteHow fun that you work part time at Williams Sonoma. The one nearest me has a La Cornue stove on display. Sometimes, I go in, stare at the stove, fiddle with the knobs and peer into the oven, like I'm seriously pondering whether or not it's large enough to hold a Thanksgiving turkey before buying the stove. The salespeople are not fooled by my charade.
I'm glad my post struck a cord with you and thanks for telling me so. Looking forward to reading your post about Ina.
Deborah
Beautiful! O to escape to Paris. Lia's work is so great.

Do you think there would be a chance Ina would rent this out on a weekly basis? Although I think I just answered my own question, it would be like asking Martha if I could bring puppy Lulu over for a play date with Francesca & Sharkie!
ReplyDeleteMillie xx
Wouldn't that be something, Millie? Maybe Ina would make a lovely dinner too for you and your husband while visiting her in Paris. It's fun to dream!
