Sometimes it's about leopard print pillows or a pumpkin-colored sofa but more often than not, I return to interiors that are simple, neutral and basic.
This kitchen is from a villa at Stablewood Springs Resort in Texas. I believe, although am not sure, that the interior design is by Pamela Pierce (please don't hold me to it). The link to the resort website is under the photo.
Do you think white wicker chairs could work in a New England kitchen or do they seem better suited for a warm climate like Texas? I like them very much.
Happy Sunday to you, Deborah.
ReplyDeleteI like neutrals the best as well, finding it a great palette to work from, with accent colors in my accessories.
I like wicker the best on a huge covered screened porch, or in a glassed-in 'conservatory' as they call them in England.
Just lovely, Deborah! You know I'm a fan of simple, neutral and basic. And yes, definitely to wicker anywhere!

Gorgeous. You hit the nail on the head. A home that is clean and simple and not overdecorated feels more timeless. Yes to wicker - so inviting - but they are not as comfortable as a fully upholstered chair for sitting long periods dining. I know because I had low back wicker chairs outdoors once and found after a while my back ached, but maybe it was just the low back (I need something to lean back against). :)

Deborah, I say yes to wicker too. So many Maine coastal houses have wicker - even as living room furniture with chintz cushions. If you love them (I do too) you should get them. On a different note, I was on your pinterest page yesterday - beautiful. Michele
ReplyDeleteI'd like the wicker chairs on any summer day in any locale. But once it gets chilly, I'd prefer a more cozy ambience.
ReplyDeletelove that kitchen-been to Stablewood Springs Resort. xxpeggybraswelldesign.com
ReplyDeleteGreat kitchen and eating space. I think white wicker could work, but love the gray ones. Decisions. Decisions!
ReplyDeleteWhatever you choose will be perfect. You have great taste.

I would like bentwood chairs rather than the wicker, scale would be more approapriate and add some warmth to the coolness of the white kitchen.
ReplyDeleteLooks great! They will work great in a New England kitchen. Simplicity and neutrals really create a calming atmosphere, especially when used with great vision like in the picture.
