Perfection

Yes, I'm gushing again, but it can't be helped. Charles Spada's rooms have that affect on me.  And while perfection is often unattainable, I know it when I see it.   My guess is that all of the rooms in this house are as perfect as this one.

The acrylic table surprised me.  They sometimes seem awkward to me, but not here where it floats gracefully among an antique sofa, framed intaglios and a harp.  I say harp casually, as if we all have a harp at home. To top it off, this is the only room I've seen with dark gray walls (I'd love to know the paint color name) that's not gloomy thanks to the tall windows.

  1. i agree deborah. it is beautiful to look at. i love the way the prints are hung so delicately. but it does not look like a comfortable room to relax in, but i'm sure that is not this rooms purpose.

  2. I agree with you, Deb. Perfection.
The room stands alone, but with the harp; sheer perfection. I love that way he has hung the intaglios too.

  5. I also love this room! I love the blend of the modern table against the traditional space! And the gray on the walls is fabulous! it looks like chelsea gray by benjamin moore. If it's not, that color is very similar. :)

  6. I agree with you Deborah it is perfection! I'd kill for the antique sofa and if you ever find out that paint color I hope you'll share! Wonderful how those modern chairs and coffee table mix so well with the antiques.

  7. Deborah, I think that any other type of coffee table would have been too heavy. I use lucite tables all the time...great for space illusions. This room is beautiful.

  8. Absolutely adore this eclectic elegant mix. And I've been looking at virtually the exact same table at CB2 - I think it is a great piece that could go absolutely anywhere - this being a perfect example!

  12. Yes, it is a truly glorious room Deborah, but I'd need to put a wee sign on the harp 'Don't toucha the harp or I killa you!' MOTH & the 5 boys couldn't resist running their cherubic little fingers across those strings each time they passed by. It would drive me quietly insane!
